Big CFEclipse Announcement at cf.Objective()!

February 28, 2007 · 7 Comments

Another reason to go to cf.Objective(): Mark Drew will be announcing (and demonstrating) a top secret project that "is so amazing, I am asking Jared to fit seat-belts to each of the seats as I am sure when I show this off, people *WILL* fall off their chairs.", says Mark. He also says the "few people I have shown it to have been very impressed" - I am lucky enough to be one of those few and, yes, this will blow people away.

    Never mind Adobe hiring Mark Drew for CFEclipse; they need to hire him for marketing. Can't wait to see what's up!

    I'll defer to Mark on any marketing. I'm just a tech weenie :)

    "The CFEclipse project is an Open Source project to provide a plugin for the Eclipse platform that provides a professional quality IDE for CFML developers."

    Secrets + Open Source? Interesting concept.

    @Cliff: Not really at odds, here, the source for CFEclipse is open, I just dont have to check in the source for the projects I am doing until I want to... :) . I also learned my lesson after weeks of marketing for CFEclipse 1.3, because of a check-in I did a lot of the mystery was lost, so with my marketeer's hat on, it will remain on several secret SVN servers for the moment, until the day of the announcement, when *it* will be released and checked in... but .. who say's its anything to do with code?

    @Dipak, Scott, Sal: No hints this time, but it will blow you away and cfObjective will be the perfect place to show it. I am so excited I nearly let the cat out of the bag!
