Lots of CFUNITED recordings online!

June 23, 2008 ·

Charlie Arehart's UGTV site has many of the CFUNITED Connect recordings listed and the CFUNITED blog just listed a whole bunch more recordings including my Saturday repeat of Event-Driven Programming and Elliott Sprehn's amazing session on the internals of the Adobe ColdFusion server.

The audio seems to have been recorded in an incredibly distorted manner for mine. :(

Yours is exceptionally clear though. It's a really good presentation too.

I'm doing my presentation again for Charlie in an online Connect session in the future and for the Melbourne CFUG in the very near future though. Hopefully the audio comes through better.

I thought the audio was a bit over-driven on mine but a lot depends on whether you adjust the Connect recording levels (using the Audio Wizard) once you have the external mic connected.

Considering Connect was a first-time experiment for CFUNITED, I think it worked extremely well overall.

FYI - I added the rest via Charlie's UGTV.

Thanx Mike! UGTV is an awesome resource so it's good to have as many as possible in one central location.

Looking forward to Elliot rerecording his presentation.

    It was 100% unintelligible.

Glad to see Mike already stepped up to indicate that he'd entered those. I'm just seeing Sean's entry here today and was about to write myself to point out that it was all Mike's doing. :-)

It's a good chance to point out, again, that anyone can add new recordings (found anywhere) to the list. There's no signup required and only a bare minimum of info is requested. In most cases, it will take only about 20 seconds to file a new recording. Keep 'em coming, people. :-)

There are now nearly 300 hours of recordings, by nearly as many speakers, added by myself and over 40 others. Always delighted to see people enjoying the resources. That's what it's there for. Thanks for the mention, Sean. Good to see you at the conference, as always, and it was very nice to meet your wife, too! :-)

BTW, as for the audio problems, that's almost inevitable in a situation like that. There was a guy helping set up each presenter just before their talk. In some cases, there just wasn't time to set the audio optimally. I can say that this doesn't happen on the coldfusion meetup because I'm able to work with each presenter to ensure it sounds good before we proceed.

Looking forward to seeing you there, Elliott, and indeed the offer goes out to any speakers who might like to either re-record their talks for better sound, or to overcome some other glitch, or of course to do any other topic. Presenters are always welcome. More at
