CFLEX, the Community Flex website, is running a survey about your level of Flex usage and your plans for Flex. The survey will help "Evangelists (both independent supporters of Flex, Flex activists, Community Experts, and Adobe employed Evangelists) to focus their efforts".

they need a place for "we haven't even touched it and probably won't for a year or more" responses (and pin down why we aren't on the bandwagon). We can't all jump on the latest tech when we want. ;)

Unfortunately, the survey assumes you have an interest in using Flex and have been doing so.

No where is there room for answers like: "Have no interest in Flex at all." Or, "Don't need another proprietary web platform."

Or, "Prefer to focus on web standards."

Quite right - this enables them to focus their efforts on people who actually care, rather than wasting time and money trying to convince people who will never be interested.

James, it's a SURVEY. Not allowing a response like "Not planning to implement Flex" leads to a whole host of misleading statistics being generated like "88% of those surveyed plan to implement Flex in the next 6 months". Those of us who'd like the numbers to actually mean something would appreciate it.

Or to put it another way, don't you think it would be significant if 75% of those surveyed said they have no plans to implement Flex in the near future? Might that not have a bearing on your own developmental plans?

A totally biased survey benefits no one...

@Michael, the survey is aimed at people *using or interested in* Flex so that people in the Flex community have a sense of what's going on in the Flex community.

You've made it abundantly clear you're not interested in Flex so the survey does not apply to you - and the people in the Flex community won't be interested in you.

Stop being so boorish!

I wish the survey covered the

"I'd love to use Flex but haven't been able to convince my boss / clients that they will benefit from it"

scenario

Sean,

Michael has a couple valid points. Why should the survey be limited to only current Flex developers? If there are 100 developers and 10 of them jumped on the Flex bandwagon, is it in Adobe and Flex's best interest to only survey the 10 current Flex developers? Or would they be better served in finding out why the other 90 haven't moved to Flex yet or haven't considered Flex? And what changes might be needed in order for the other 90 to consider Flex?

@Jeff, the point here is that the survey is aimed at people interested in Flex. That's what the Community Flex folks want to know about right now.

I would expect a completely different survey to address folks who are not interested in Flex.

If the survey isn't aimed at you, don't fill it in!

Wait until a survey comes along that is aimed at you.

This is a Community Flex survey, not an Adobe survey - don't ascribe to Adobe your inferred view of what Community Flex is trying to achieve here.

Sean, Fair enough.
