The latest software update for Mac OS X 10.5.2 adds Java 1.6.0_05 but does not change your default setup. See this tech note for more details.

I haven't yet switched to Java 6 as my default JRE but I will shortly. Happy to hear any early feedback from folks.

yups, just got my macbook 2 hrs ago and noticed the java update popping up. subscribing here to get any feedback.

ya know i am still afraid to install things like this and I unfortunately can thank those fine fine software makers **choke n puke** in redmond, but I am slowing learning that on a mac it's pretty safe . So I installed it and all is well in typical mac fashion.

Can't tell yet if any overall improvements but all is still working well.

I couldn't get it to work with either CF 8.01 or FlexBuilder

I switched JVM in the Java panel AND changed the CurrentJDK symlink to 1.6.0.

Either applications wouldn't start stating JVM critical errors.

I hope you are more lucky than I !!

I think I'll stick with SoyLatte for now. It's been out in the woods a lot longer than this (even before the developer preview) and seems to be updated and cared for a bit more than Apple cares for their JVMs. But, that's just my preference.
