Adobe has already begun to impress me... my mailbox, network access and a whole bunch of other things are already migrated. Their IS/IT department has a great set of knowledge base articles on their intranet explaining how to set up and configure everything. I already have access to all of the Adobe software suites (Acrobat Pro 7.0.x and CS2 are on my Mac and fully updated - yeah, Adobe software automatically updates itself... nice!). All the IS/IT functions seem to be self-service and very efficient so it has been remarkably easy to get up and running with all our new services and facilities. The communications I've had so far emphasize standards and common procedures which bodes well for getting my job done without having to battle with a each department doing things a different way. I'm liking what I see... I hope you do too!

Just 1 minor thing, it looks like Adobe is changing everyone from a macromedia.com email address to a adobe.com address.... I tried to email someone, but got the email back saying that the account wasn't known :(
Also the shipments of new serials were on hold for a day or a day and a halve.
But aside that, it looks like everything is going really smooth!

Adobe email addresses are strictly limited to eight characters, as far as I can tell (so I'm scorfiel at adobe dot com). That was originally true at Macromedia as well but then they added vanity aliases (so I was scorfiel at macromedia dot com with an alias for scorfield).
Some email addresses will also differ slightly in terms of initials used I believe (a colleague now has his middle initial in his Adobe address, for example). However, our old macromedia dot com addresses should continue to work for the time being (and will forward to our new adobe dot com addresses).

I find it strange that they did not set up aliases for the email accounts. That way you could receive email from both email accounts. I can understand their desire to remove the previous identity. This is of course without knowing what email server and clients they use. =)

Teddy, mail sent to scorfield@macromedia.com will turn up in my adobe.com inbox so in effect I am receiving email from both accounts.
It seems I now have sean dot corfield at adobe dot com as an alias which is going to be my preferred email address for work-related matters.
